Huawei seems to be really busy releasing new smart phones these days. After the much anticipated Ascend W1 which was released January this year with Windows Phone 8, Now Huawei is gearing up to release Ascend W2 which will be the successor to Ascend W1.
Huawei has unveiled the specifications of Ascend W2 during the Mobile Asia Expo 2013 held in Shanghai china from 26th to 28th June. W2 is just 9.9mm thick and comes with 298ppi 4.3inch 480 x 800 resolution IPS LCD display.
W2 employs Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 series dual core 1.4Ghz processor which is a slight step up from W1’s MSM8230 1.2Ghz dual core processor, Adreno 305GPU with 512GB RAM and 8GB of storage with microsd expansion up to 32GB. 8MP camera is on board capable of shooting 1080P videos at 30fps. Ascend W1 only had the ability to shoot 720P with its 5MP camera.
HSPA+ 42mbps , GPS/Glonass and WiFI N (sadly no ac) with Bluetooth 4.0 is supported. W2 comes with 1700mAh battery while W1 came with 1950mAh .
Information about pricing is not released but its speculated that it will be around $300 on release. Also the release date is not yet announced but we can hope this phone to hit the shelves in some time later this year.
