Well this is interesting! We are receiving reports that Ascend P6S will feature the same MediaTek 6592 true octa-core processor which we reported earlier to be featured in the upcoming Huawei Honor 4. Huawei’s president Xu Xin Quan announced on weibo that Ascend P6S will feature an updated octa-core processing capable processor. He mentioned that this new processor will be an upgrade to Huawei’s current K3V2 processor lineup.
We can see that many Android related news web sites posting that Huawei is going to release Ascend P6S with MediaTek 6592 processor based on Huawei presidents statement on weibo, but he never mentioned Ascend P6S will be based on MediaTek’s octa-core processor. Ascend P6S will be Huawei’s flagship and we all know that Huawei likes to power their top end phones with their own HiSilicon processor series.
However we agree that the chances of Ascend P6S processor being MediaTek 6592 is very high because we haven’t heard much about Huawei’s own K3V3 processor development lately. But there is a 50 50 chance of Ascend P6S’s processor being Huawei made one. We have previously brought you the news about Ascend P6S being listed up for sale on Chinese Taobao web store and surprisingly that listing mentioned Ascend P6S to have an 8 core chipset. http://huaweinews.com/2013/10/ascend-p6s-taobao/ that listing is removed but now we guess that listing was probably a genuine one.

No one has solid information about what will be the processor on Ascend P6S because earlier we even reported about a leaked benchmark of Ascend P6S with an quad core processor. http://huaweinews.com/2013/10/ascend-p6s-with-k3v2plus/ But that might be just a prototype and the real one will be announced in next month for sure.
