Firefox OS has started to make a buzz on the internet already and Huawei,LG,ZTE and Alacatel are notable smartphone partners for the upcoming Firefox OS. Alacatel,LG and ZTE has already launched smartphones running Firefox OS and now its chance for Huawei to come up with something.
Today we got to know that Huawei is indeed working on bringing a Firefox OS smartphone to the public and its called Ascend Y300II. Chinese news site cnbeta.com has able to obtain some pictures and specs of this new device.
Ascend Y300II with Firefox OS can be seen on the right corner of above photo. Interestingly it has a home button which looks a bit like the Iphone’s home button.
Firefox OS is a very lightweight web focused operating system which is based on HTML5. Firefox OS isn’t designed to compete with other popular OS’s like Android and IOS but its designed to run on low end devices and to be cheaper for emerging markets. The other Firefox OS smartphones we mentioned earlier has low end specs compared to the Ascend Y300II. Ascend Y300II is actually a beefy device to run Firefox OS

Leaked pictures shows “Movistar” logo on the back of Ascend Y300II and its a mobile network based in Spain and also a leader of pushing Firefox OS smartphones to the public by releasing “ZTE Open” and “Alacatel One Touch Fire” Firefox OS smartphones.
Leaked information suggests that Ascend Y300II will be released on the first quarter of 2014 but we wouldn’t be surprised if Huawei releases this within few weeks of time.
