As we reported earlier today, Huawei has just released 2 new phones at a press conference happened just hours before now. Like we expected before, Huawei hasn’t unveiled the leaked Honor 4 but surprisingly they have announced a new phone called Honor 3X.
Honor 3X
Honor 3X is really a surprise. Huawei is really poor in keeping secrets and all other top phones they have released before were leaked all over the internet before the public release. But we haven’t able to obtain any news about the Honor 3X before today’s announcement.
Honor 3X is a phablet with the following specs,
* Display – 5.5inch IPS LCD 720P resolution
* Processor – MediaTek 6592 Octa Core 1.7Ghz
* RAM – 2GB
* Camera – 13MP primary 5MP secondary
* Battery – 3000mAh
* Network – 3G dual SIM
* Software – Android 4.2.2 with EMUI 2.0
Honor 3X is targeted towards the budget phablet seekers and for a $280 off-contract price you have nothing to loose. We wish Huawei should have used a 1080P screen but oh well.
Honor 3C
We have reported about the Honor 3C for the past few days and it came out exactly as we reported. Honor 3C is a budget smartphone and completely worth it for the price. You have the option to choose from 1GB or 2GB or RAM for different price. here are the specs,
* Display – 5inch LTPS TFT 720P resolution
* Processor – MediaTek 6582 Quad Core 1.3Ghz Coretex-A7
* GPU – ARM Mali-400
* RAM – 1GB or 2GB (different price)
* Storage – 4GB with MicroSD support up to 32GB
* Camera – 8MP Sony made f/2.0 primary cam and 5MP Samsung made secondary
* Battery – 2300mAh
* Network – 3G dual SIM
* Software – Android 4.2.2 with EMUI 2.0
* Weight – 140G
Huawei claims that Honor 3C’s frame is made from Magnesium as you can see below
Honor 3C will be priced at $130 for the 1GB RAM version and $160 for the 2GB RAM version. Both Honor 3C and 3X has dual mics for noise reduction and claims better sound quality with the DTS sound technology. And like we reported earlier Honor 3C will come in 6 colors for you to choose from
Both Honor 3X and 3C has the connectivity options such as Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi N and GPS. Bluetooth 4.0 is really awesome technology and it will help you to pair your Honor smartphone with the latest smart watches, smart rings and other low power devices which require Bluetooth 4.0
Since Honor 3C has a Mali-400 GPU most games will be compatible and playable for such a budget device. As leaked before Honor 3C scores around 18000 points in Antutu – http://huaweinews.com/2013/12/huawei-honor-3c/ and Huawei reports the same on their product information page.
Both phones support international network connectivity and Honor 3C is set to go on sale from Tomorrow 17th of December on Huawei’s own Vmall store and we have no information about the release time frame of Honor 3X at the moment. Keep reading Huaweinews.com to find out more details.

Richard Yu pointed out on his weibo why they did not go for the 1080p resolution.
“LTPS technology fit the whole screen, although HD resolution, the actual user experience is more than the Friends of FHD.”
“We emphasize that the user can experience the real perceived performance configuration, rather than the parameter control, specification control. My decision to give up and switch to full-screen FHD bonding temperature polysilicon LTPS HD screen technology reasons for a better experience and fluency performance, lower power consumption. Refresh in a cost-effective price, to see who is the most cost-effective experience! Flagship machine, thousands machine price, low power consumption is not hot, as in fever!”
“Note2 same 5.5 inches HD screen phones, because of their use Pentile arrangement, the effect has not yet reached HD resolution, but we interviewed dozens of users, no one feels the resolution is not high enough, there is a standby battery life of its dissatisfied enough , big enough to cover slippery and quality stability. 3X uses true full HD glory fit screen display is good enough, eight-core processor with FHD no problem, as long battery life, specially modified chose HD!”

There’s something more. Its not just 3c being a challenge to the Xiaomi Hongmi. But the 3x is also a challenge to their flagship Xiaomi Mi3.
Rival of the xiaomi mi3? not really!
Way to different and the mi3 will blow this device in any way.
Ps, thats what mr. Yu really said? If so, whats up with his english?
Regarding English, I believe he translated it through Google.
There was a spec sheet comparison chart somewhere in Chinese forums and the pricing and specs nearly matched with the Mi3. On the other hand, i also see other speculations that 3x is meant to challenge the Mi2s or the Hongmi 2 (which is allegedly going to have the 8core MTK chip). Nonetheless, the Huawei flagship D3 is yet to arrive and would have a better spec than the Honor 3x.
Weibo is actually a Chinese micro blog site and those words of Mr. Richard Yu was translated with Google translator.
Wow, that’s a lot of phone for $280
