Last year at the Mobile Asia Expo 2013 held in China, Huawei released the Ascend W2 to the public. Its been about 6 months and we have been receiving reports that Huawei is already gearing up to release the successor to Ascend W2 named is Ascend W3. Ascend W series became very popular almost everywhere as a budget Windows Phone because there aren’t many players in that criteria.

Ascend W3 has been leaked many times in the past 2 months and the recent leaks reveals that Ascend W3 will be a high end Windows Phone unlike W2 and original W1. That explains the short time span between the W2 and W3. Current leaks confirm that Ascend W3 will feature a 4.5inch display with 8MP camera,4G TD-LTE support and it will run Windows Phone 8.1 at the time of release.

Reports suggest that Huawei is preparing to release Ascend W3 at the CES 2014 which is scheduled to happen between January 7-10 this year. This news comes from “HW_Fans” weibo account which is proven to be a reliable news source for Huawei related stuff. Huawei is lacking a high end Windows Phone device and they might take this chance to enter to that market segment currently ruled by Nokia.
