Ascend P6 is getting old and Its successor Ascend P6S doesn’t has the guts to be the next generation of Ascend P6. Huawei seems to be working on a true successor for Ascend P6 and at the moment its code named as “Sophia”. We have been getting news about this new smartphone throughout the past few weeks and once even a official document about “Sophia” got leaked online – http://huaweinews.com/2013/12/ascend-p7-specs-leaked/. About 10 days ago photographs of the ‘Sophia’ back panel were leaked online as we published here – http://huaweinews.com/2014/01/huawei-sophia-leaked/.
Now screenshots of ‘Sophia’ Android settings page and Antutu benchmark scores, were leaked by a Weibo (Chinese microblogging site) user.
This confirms the specifications written on the leaked Huawei official document and surprisingly its running Android 4.4.2 and Emotion UI2.3 unlike the other leaked smartphones. This alone indicates that “Sophia” is special and its possibly the upcoming Ascend P7.
We like the facts that “Sophia” has a 1080P display and 13MP Camera but its featuring the same chipset and GPU as Ascend P6S so there aren’t any improvements there. Above screenshots also tells us that Huawei is sticking to onscreen buttons with the next generation device and the form factor might look similar too. Huawei might be announcing this device at MWC 2014 and possibly the release will be on April as planned.
