Ascend Mate is a relatively new device when thinking about its age. Released in January last year but the last time we saw a firmware update for Ascend Mate was over 6 months ago when B907 came out – http://huaweinews.com/2013/12/ascend-mate-b907-firmware/. Huawei seems to have lost the interest of Ascend Mate since the launch of all new Ascend Mate 2 and the 4G version of it in the international markets.
Don’t worry just yet, Huawei released a new build of Ascend Mate firmware named B927SP02 coupled with the Emotion UI 2.0 interface. B927SP02 is still based on Android 4.2.2 and if you expected a better version you are out of luck. This new firmware is named as a developer edition and its released for the Chinese region. English and few other languages are included and here is a quick facts sheet about this new firmware
Device – Ascend Mate MT1-U01
Name – B927SP02
Android version – 4.2.2
Emotion UI version – 2.0
Region – China
Update size – 586MB
Emotion UI 2.0 brings several other improvements aside from visual changes. For example new power management, permissions management and optimization features are built in to this new firmware. But don’t forget that this is a developer firmware and this means that there might be bugs so keep in mind when you are installing this firmware.
