Ascend P7 is the Huawei’s latest international flagship smartphone. P7 was just went on sale last month and now we are starting to see new firmware updates for the device. Ascend P7 launched with Android 4.4 KitKat running on it. Huawei is committed to sending maintenance updates even though Ascend P7 is running latest and greatest Android version at launch. Today Huawei has released the OTA update for Ascend P7 named as B126. This new firmware update includes bug fixes and performance optimizations. B126 is still based on Android 4.4 KitKat and Emotion UI 2.3. Here are some details about this firmware release

Folks at Huaweiblog.de has published the OTA update as a downloadable firmware which you can use to flash your Ascend P7 to get B126 if you haven’t got the B126 OTA yet. If you are running an older firmware version it will be worthwhile to update to this one as B126 brings under the hood improvements to your Ascend P7. Your data and apps will be kept during the upgrade but its better to take backups just in case.

Make sure your battery is fully charged and take backups of your data

1. Unrar the downloaded file
2. Place the Update.app inside a folder named “dload” on your SD card root directory
3. Go to Settings -> System update -> Local Update and it will install the firmware
