If you want to flash a custom ROM to your Android device, first thing you need is a custom recovery software installed on your device because stock Android recovery doesn’t support flashing third party custom ROM’s and doing other major changes to the system. ClockWorkMod and TWRP recovery projects are the best in the business when it comes to Android third party recovery software’s. Both performs mostly the same but TWRP seems to be the most popular option for Huawei smartphones. Ascend P6 has a third party TWRP recovery port (http://huaweinews.com/2013/11/twrp-recovery-ascend-p6/) made by developer “surdu_setru” on XDA and now he have ported TWRP (Team Win Recovery Project) recovery to Huawei’s latest flagship smartphone Ascend P7.
At the moment of writing, everything seems to be working except Internal storage not getting mounted and changing the file system on Advanced Wipe menu on TWRP. You need to have an unlocked bootloader prior installing this recovery and installation is done through ADB. As we said initially, having a custom recovery on your Ascend P7 is the first step to enter the world of custom ROM’s,Kernels and all sorts of mods. Since the custom recovery is covered by now, we can expect custom ROM’s to be available in the near future. Click the below link to visit the XDA thread about this development.
