Huawei has announced a shiny new smart TV named as “Honor A55″ and as the model number suggests Honor A55 is a 55inch smart TV with beautiful externals and an awesome LG made 4K 55inch LED backlit IPS panel. Huawei might have felt the heat and competition from Chinese manufacturers like Xiaomi and Lenovo  to introduce this new TV for the region. Xioami and Lenovo both plays a significant role in Chinese smartphone market and has their own TV sets on sale for a very cheap price.

Honor A55 isn’t really that cheap considering the expected price of about 1000 euros but beautiful 4K 3840×2160 (80ppi) resolution screen and included smart features makes up for the price. Below are the specifications of Honor A55

According to the details that we have Honor A55 surprisingly runs a fork of Linux named as Coocaa OS instead of Android OS. Huawei has incorporated lots of software features to seamlessly work with their smartphone line up so instead of using a traditional remote control, you would be able to use your Huawei smartphone or tablet to take full control of your Honor TV.

Demonstrations at the presentation has shown that Honor A55 boots in 7 seconds while it takes just 1 second to wake up from sleep mode. Honor A55 doesn’t come with a standard IR remote but IR receiver is included so it could work with IR blaster equipped smartphones instead of just using Bluetooth and universal remotes like Logitech Harmony.
