Huawei entered to the smart band business with the introduction of Huawei TalkBand B1 just earlier this year. We haven’t seen it much making an impact on the market yet probably due to scarce availability. Huawei is going to give another shot with their latest smart band “Honor Play Bracelet/Band”. Announced yesterday along with the Huawei Honor A55 smart TV and Honor 6 Extreme Edition, “Honor Play Bracelet” is nice looking smart band which almost looks like the expensive Nike Fuelband. Honor Play Bracelet is a shift to a different design from previous Huawei Talkband because Honor Play Bracelet’s brain isn’t removable to transform as a Bluetooth headset like Talkband did.

Honor Play Bracelet supports both IOS 7+ and Android 4.3+ devices and the price is just 399 RMB in China which translates to about $65. We think a good looking smart band like this for $65 is a very good deal and its support for non Huawei devices is a huge advantage if you are interested in purchasing this device. Honor Play Bracelet has some neat features like ability to tell the battery percentage of your phone,notifying if your phone is too far from your hand, ability to release the shutter of your smartphone camera along with the standard fitness features like step,calorie counters,sleep cycle monitoring and few others.

Honor Play Bracelet comes in few colors to choose from and preordering starts 21st October in China. Availability outside Chinese region isn’t known yet but Huawei will most probably release this smart band in Europe near future.
