Huawei’s Kirin processors has been in the market for a quite sometime now. With every iteration, Huawei has been making major improvements to the Kirin range and the gap between top of the line Qualcomm Snapdragon processors are becoming thinner with every release. With Ascend Mate 9 just around the corner, Huawei has just came forward to announce the newest Kirin 960 processor which will be featured on the Mate 9.

Huawei has made this announcement on its official Twitter page and according to the video Kirin 960 is said to bring 18% CPU performance improvement, 180% more GPU power and 2X faster data transfer speeds compared to its predecessor which is Kirin 950.

Data transfer speed increase comes thanks to the eMMC 5.1 compatibility and GPU computing power increases due to the use of latest generation ARM Mali G71-MP8 GPU.
